Splash & Decker (initially referred to as Campus Deli) has been operating in Ngee Ann Polytechnic since the school’s opening in the ’80s. Apart from its variety of cakes, puffs and pastries, and rows of Snapple at their disposal, the shop has something no other deli can offer - its home made sandwiches. Today is (officially) the last day of Splash & Decker’s operations, and these are the ladies who stand behind the counter every weekday, making, albeit satirically sounding, what they make best: sandwiches. These may not be the same people who’ve been here since the deli’s opening, but these are the people who’ve made our daily mad lunch hour a little, or a lot, better. Thank you.
